Who We Are
Reaxis Inc. has a rich history dating back to 1935 with the incorporation of Pitt Metals. The company manufactured inorganic tin compounds in the 1970s. In 1993 the company became Goldschmidt Industrial Chemical Corporation with the sale of Pitt Metals to Th. Goldschmidt, AG, Essen, Germany which was subsequently acquired by Evonik. As of December 2006, Goldschmidt became an independent company, fully owned by management. The name was changed to Reaxis in March 2008.
What We Do
Headquartered in McDonald, PA near Pittsburgh, Reaxis manufactures an extensive range of products that are used in numerous industries including plastics, coatings, elastomers, adhesives, sealants, personal care, hydrogen peroxide, oil/gas drilling additives, electronics and lubricants. Our standard and specialty products are applicable in a wide range of chemistries, including catalysis of esterification, transesterification, polyurethane and polysiloxane reactions, as well as surface finishing, complexation and redox chemistries.
In order to meet our customers’ increasing demands, we are establishing a second manufacturing site in the Pittsburgh area, which will expand our capabilities to cover a wider range of products.
Quality is critical to the success of our business and the success of our customers. Our first ISO 9001 registration was received in 1997. We are now ISO 9001-2008 and RC 14001-2008 certified and have been awarded several quality and environmental awards, most notably in 2003 the prestigious Governor’s (of Pennsylvania) Award for Environmental Excellence.
