REAXIS® E144P (Sodium Stannate) is a Sn (IV)-based inorganic tin chemical, also known as sodium stannate trihydrate, sodium tin hydroxide, or hexahydroxy stannate. The standard crystalline grade of REAXIS® E144P contains approximately 44% tin. REAXIS® E144P is produced such that residual metal contaminants are controlled, resulting in a high-purity end product. The residual metal of REAXIS® E144P is lower compared to the standard grade sodium stannate, REAXIS® E144. Alternative grades to the REAXIS® E144P include liquid grades REAXIS® E144-22 and Sodium Stannate, 30% and REAXIS® E144P. Alternatives to REAXIS® E144P would be the potassium grades REAXIS® E140 and REAXIS® E140P.

REAXIS® E144P is used in a wide range of applications including surface finishing, stabilization of hydrogen peroxide, and electrolyte additives for battery applications. In surface finishing applications, sodium stannate trihydrate ensures a smooth and consistent finish. Given its low residual metal impurities, REAXIS® E144P is typically used in personal care-related applications. For non-personal care applications, the standard grade of sodium stannate, REAXIS® E144, is typically used. REAXIS® E144P can be used as an alkaline electroplating additive in high-speed plating operations given its ideal solubility. Related applications include coating of automotive pistons and coin minting. REAXIS® E144P can be used as a stabilizer for hydrogen peroxide via the complexation of destabilizing residual metals, resulting in extended storage stability. REAXIS® E144P can be used in electrolytes in metal-air batteries to minimize and control electrode corrosion/passivation/fouling. REAXIS® E144 is present on a wide range of international regulatory lists.
REAXIS® E144 has a reactivity characterized by its high tin content, species of tin present as Sn (IV), and solubility. In terms of functionality, REAXIS® E144 acts as both a good chelating agent for a wide variety of metals and an efficient tin metal plating agent.
Packaging
Storage
REAXIS® E144P should be stored in the original packaging. The container should be closed tightly after each use to maximize shelf life.
